An annual April experiment in creating a Fake Journal~ FAKE: pretend, simulate; counterfeit; to alter.manipulate.
or treat as to impart a false character or appearance.

A fun exercise in pretending to be someone else, maybe in an alternate universe!

I'm Not "Home"

Head gear required.

Boredom is a common problem.

To review:
So far, my character has drawn
bread, a gloved hand, coins, shoes, socks,
matches, needle and thread, stocking cap,
can opener, toothbrush and comb.
My character has seen railroad tracks, a
park bench, a pop can, and people.

The phrases are random, perhaps things
remembered or overheard,(mostly because
the real me thinks they are fun) but have
eerily made a certain kind of sense
as I chose which image would be
paired with which phrase.

I say it's eerie because I collected the random
phrases for a month or so prior to IFJM, and then
at the last minute, changed my mind
about who my character would be.

Details matter.

  1. He's a HOMELESS person. Or at least a person who lives on the streets. Please let me know if I'm wrong.

  2. OK - I'm getting the sense that your character is a homeless person - but the perfume quote made me think "prostitute".....

    1. LOL! never thought of the prostitute angle! you are right, my character is homeless. I've been trying to 'read up' about it, and it's not easy for me to identify with. The closest I can get is camping, which I've done many times. But that was my choice. Can't imagine the agony of being on the street in hail or sleet with nowhere to go!!

  3. Or perhaps, a female, homeless, artist who lives in the streets and alleys, collecting what she needs to get by from discarded refuse. She's a wonderful artist! :-)

  4. well, I have no idea if there are homeless artists...I suppose there are. That's why I'm using all types of papers, discarded envelopes, and even magazine pages. whatever works. i think i need to 'find' some crayons though...I miss color!!
